There are three Medicare Savings Programs in Montana, which are available to qualified residents:
The Qualified Medicare Beneficiary program is available for assisting the senior citizens. This program is considered important for the benefits it provides, especially for individuals with low-income and resources.
QMB program provides Medicare premiums, coinsurance and deductibles for the aged Montana residents, having limited income. The income limits are established by the federal government for every year. This program does not provide cover for the expenses, which are not covered by Medicare.
Income limits for Qualified Medicare Beneficiary program are:
This program provides assistance to those people, having income slightly more than those having Qualified Medicare Beneficiary program. SLMB program pays monthly part B premiums of the individuals. To obtain this program, you need to qualify the income guidelines set by federal government.
Income limit for Specified Low Income Beneficiaries:
Qualified Individuals program pays only Part B monthly premiums of the enrolled individuals. You should meet the financial guidelines to be eligible for this program.
Income limit for Qualified Individuals:
Apart from the income requirements, the financial resources of the participants are also considered, to qualify for any of the above Medicare Savings programs. Assets of participating individuals cannot be more than $6,600 or exceed $9,910 for couples.
